Job title: Accounts Assistant\n Salary: £26,000 - £28,300\n Location: Manchester\n\n About the Role\n A leading UK investment and financial services organisation is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Supervisor, you will take ownership of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring supplier invoices, purchase orders and credit notes are processed accurately and efficiently.\n The role will also support wider finance activities including accounts receivable, month-end reporting, general ledger maintenance, banking payments and reconciliations. You will act as the primary point of contact for supplier queries and work closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure compliance with internal policies and financial controls.\n\n Key Responsibilities\nManage the Accounts Payable function, ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and in line with company policies and procedures.\nProcess purchase orders, supplier invoices and credit notes in accordance with authorisation controls.\nAdminister company credit cards, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded within the accounting system.\nComplete supplier statement reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.\nRaise sales invoices and maintain associated general ledger records.\nRespond to supplier, customer, auditor and internal stakeholder queries in a timely manner.\nSupport compliance and risk management processes by adhering to established financial controls and procedures.\nProcess banking payments and provide support to treasury-related activities when required.\nAssist with month-end finance activities, including bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations and journal postings.\nSupport the Finance Supervisor and wider Finance team with ad hoc reporting and analysis.Skills & Experience\nPrevious experience within an Accounts Payable or Finance Assistant role is preferred.\nExperience carrying out supplier statement reconciliations and liaising with suppliers.\nGood understanding of financial controls, compliance and risk management.\nExperience using accounting and general ledger systems, including accounts payable modules.\nCompetent Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management abilities.\nExcellent attention to detail and organisational skills.\nAbility to work accurately and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Benefits\nCompetitive pension scheme.\nLife assurance and income protection.\nPrivate medical insurance.\nEmployee discounts on company products and services.\nWellbeing allowance to support physical and mental health.\nRetail and lifestyle discounts.\nFlexible benefits package that can be tailored to individual needs.\n Please send your CV to Rosie Hutcheon, or call (phone number removed) via the ‘Apply Now’ option to be considered for the role
